Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than twenty years. Buss is the founder and president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. A California native Buss was raised in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in real estate who was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. The couple divorced in 1972 which made her feel like she was left behind. At the age 19 she was appointed the General Manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. She then founded in the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She was the president at the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice President of the Lakers. Buss, her five siblings and brothers as well as their father who owned the Lakers and ruled them until the time of his passing away in 2013, received this ownership through a trust. Each of them had equal vote rights. She took on the role of the president for Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles Lakers. Buss also owns Women of Wrestling, a professional organization that has its headquarters within Los Angeles.
