Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B with a distinctive mix. She's appeared on Broadway in the Democratic National Convention and in concerts and festivals across Europe. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she started her musical career by performing on the piano as well as singing in church. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical training began on Atlanta's R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You an House is only available in Japan. It has been remixed numerous times and has become a staple of her live shows. She also has contributed her voices in The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005 she was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the director of choral for this stage show. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention through four performances a day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was eventually invited to sing for the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
