Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to notoriety after she released her debut album Age Ain't Nothing But a Number in 1994. The album was Gold in the year she turned just 15 years old. R. Kelly was a significant influence in this project which put the singer into the spotlight. In 1996, she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland for her sophomore studio album One In A Million, featuring the number one hit single If Your Girl knew. Aaliyah achieved international recognition for her R&B songs on the release of this album. She was a part of the romantic action film Romeo Must Die alongside martial artists Jet-Li. Joel Silver, a film producer who was at an award show when she got the role, noticed her. In 2002, she was able to be part of the vampire flick Queen of the Damned which was inspired by Anne Rice's Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels saw her as Zee and appeared on The Matrix Reloaded (2003) as well as The Matrix Revolutions that same year. Other than The Big Bang Theory her other most acclaimed works include Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017). In addition, she has appeared in commercials of major brands such as international automobile manufacturer Volvo. She is currently working on her acting career at Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband and daughter.
